Summer Heat Building In!
Today was another day where we had plenty of warmth and humidity, but where our high temperatures stayed slightly below normal. For the remainder of the workweek we will see the heat build in slightly, and that will get us back into the more normal upper 90s.
High pressure will continue to build in for the rest of the workweek, and that is what will cause temperatures to climb into the upper 90s. Heat index values for most of us the next several days will be over 100°, with some areas east of I-35 climbing to as high as 105°.
Over the next few days we will be watching a tropical wave move through the Gulf. The overall impacts from this system on Central Texas looks minimal, but it may bring us a few isolated showers Saturday and Sunday.
Next week the high pressure will build in stronger. That will lead to more upper 90s for most of us, with a few areas hitting the 100° for the first time this summer!
