Our First Triple-Digit Day Possible This Week!
Summer high pressure will be the major weather feature we will be tracking this week. The “Heat Dome” will strengthen mid-week, leading to our best chance for triple digit heat.
In a typical summer our first triple digit day usually arrives around July 4th, and we on average see around 24 triple digit days per summer. We haven’t seen any triple digit days so far this summer, but that could change Wednesday or Thursday. Heat index values most of the week will range between 100-105°.
The high pressure will shift west by Friday and into the weekend. This will allow a weak cold front to push towards Central Texas. This will allow some slight rain chances, and some slightly cooler temperatures, to arrive over the weekend.
