It’s been another day of triple digit heat for much of Central Texas, but we are tracking some changes as we end out the workweek and head into the weekend!

The high pressure that has been settled in across Texas will shift a little to the west over the next few days. That will allow a weak front to push towards our area and likely stall out as we head into the weekend. Friday will still be a very hot and humid day, with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values near 105°. The approaching front will help to spark up some spotty afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

High temperatures over the weekend will be in the mid 90s, with the spotty rain chances hold on. The humidity rates will be rather high, so even though the temperatures are down some, we expect heat index values to remain over 100° through the weekend.

High pressure builds back in next week. That will shut off the rain chances and push our highs back into the upper 90s.
