The Winter Chill Returns With Another Strong Cold Front
We have seen temperatures rebound today in most locations, but we stayed cooler east of I-35 where the clouds remained thick. A few spotty showers are possible during the evening hours in advance of a strong cold front that arrives overnight.
Strong Cold Front Arrives Tonight
Fog Alert: In advance of the approaching cold front, we could see some fog develop during the late evening and overnight hours. As the winds pick up behind the front, the visibilities should improve quickly for the morning commute.
Rain Chances: Spotty light showers will pickup in coverage through the evening and overnight hours as the cold front moves through. The morning commute will have to contend with scattered light showers, and we will keep decent rain chances around through lunchtime. The coverage of the rain will drop off through the afternoon and evening hours.
Breezy & Colder Temperatures: Out the door Thursday morning temperatures will be in the mid 40s, with winds gusting to around 25 mph. That will push wind chills down into the mid-to-upper 30s for most of us. So bundle up!!

Temperatures won’t improve much throughout the day, and some of us may actually see temperatures drop a couple degrees into the afternoon. The winds will gradually die down during the afternoon, but wind chills will remain in the 30s the majority of the day.

Warmer by the Weekend
Cloudy and cool conditions will hold on for Friday, with highs only in the mid 50s for most of us. We can’t rule out a stray shower or two, but the vast majority of us will remain rain free Friday. Sunshine starts to return over the weekend, and that will help to push highs back into the 60s. Our next cold front rolls in early on Sunday. Luckily this front won’t be as strong as recent fronts. It will bring some breezy north winds and a slight dip in the temperatures, but nothing major.
A Break in the Action Next Week
We will see some fluctuation in temperatures next week, but most of the week looks nice and sunny. The coolest day of the workweek will be Monday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. We will likely see highs back in the warmer 70s by Wednesday and Thursday!
