5 New Games Releasing in September 2024 | The Download
A new PlayStation Icon approaches.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) -
September is here, the summer is ending and the deluge of games is about to unfold as we officially enter the fall Holiday season. Which can only mean one thing. That it’s time to go over some of the biggest and best games releasing in September 2024. I’m Andrew Hamilton and this is your September edition of The Download.
Astro Bot:
Back at the launch of the PS5 in waaaaaay back in the distant past of 2020, Sony’s new premier system came bundled with a little game called Astro Bot Rescue. An adorable platformer chalk full of incredible tech demos for the dualsense controller and even more full of a deep love of PlayStation history. Now Team Asobi is back and Astro Bot is getting a full fledge premium game in well... Astro Bot. With the PS5 mothership crashed and its 300 AStro Bot strong crew scattered to the galactic winds you must set out to rescue and team up with them. Across 50 unique levels you’ll encounter the likes of Jak, Kratos and even some older familiar faces from across the storied history of PlayStation. Ride your trusty dualsense controller in Astro Bot on September 6th on PS5.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine II:
Warhammer 40k is one of the most beloved table top rpgs in the world and man have they produced a lot of games about it. Well this month you get to step into the massive blood-soaked boots of a Space Marine with up to two friends. Conquer massive hordes of enemies, take down tactical assets and score some glorious loot along the way. Suit up when Warhammer 40K Space Marine II launches September 9th for PS5, Xbox Series S and X and PC.
Funko Fusion:
First we had the Lego games. Then we had Fortnite. Then Lego Fortnite. Now a new challenger is entering the ring and its from an unlikely face. Yes thats right Funko Pops are getting their own original adventure game in the form of Funko Fusion. Join up with many of your favorite characters from franchises like Battlestar Galactica, Jurrasic Park, Five Nights at Freddy’s and even Hot Fuzz. Solve puzzles beat bad guys and save the Funko verse. Look if this is even half as fun as a lego game then it’ll be solid. Unleash the Collector in you when Funko Fusion launches September 13th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S\X and PC.
The Plucky Squire:
Every so often a game comes along that just sparks joy from its creativity. The Plucky Squire is that game for me, a wonderful melding of medias to make an epic adventure. Take on the role of the titular Plucky Squire, after he is booted from his book by a jealous witch. Roam the stories of the world around you in 2D then take to the real world to move around the kids room you live in. Not only is the art style gorgeous but the gameplay is a real variety show. Turn the page on your story when The Plucky Squire launches September 17th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S\X, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom:
Rounding out the months games is maybe one of the most unexpected titles releasing this year. The people of Hyrule are being stolen away by strange rifts that have appeared throughout the kingdom. With a certain swordsman among the missing, it’s up to Princess Zelda to save her kingdom in a brand-new adventure in the Legend of Zelda series! With unique magic powers and a super cool style of puzzle solving Zelda is set to star in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom when it launches September 26th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
Those are just a small sample of the many many awesome games releasing this month. As always you can find the full list over on our website under the Hardwired Gaming News tab. Before you go I just want to say, I know things can get intense at this time of year so be sure to take some time to care for yourself. You deserve it. For Hardwired I’m Andrew Hamilton.
