Verdict:

Overall I feel like a vow is worth checking out especially since it’s available on Game Pass. The game doesn’t do anything new mostly recycling tired and well-trodden gameplay mechanics but if you’re looking for a fun-filled fantasy adventure that puts all its eggs in the long-winded story basket then look no further. Engaging combat, solid voice acting and a soothing soundtrack help make Avowed world a good one to get lost in. I had high hopes for a new fantasy epic from the folks at Obsidian but it seems I’ll be waiting a bit longer for that, I give Avowed a 6 out of 10.
