(KWTX) - With Food for Families just three days away, we stopped in at one Temple food pantry to talk more about their preparations and need for this year.

Each month, the pantry — Churches Touching Lives for Christ typically serves 2,000 households; supplying families with a grocery basket of food.

“The people have the need, the don’t take it lightly about coming here, but they know that they can get a little help and stretch those budget dollars they have for medications, transportation, for a place to live,” Executive Director Paula Tanner said.

This year, the need is greater - especially the past month.

The demand has increased; CTLC is now providing for 400 more families.

Friday, this pantry is just one of many KWTX will be at as they take part in the largest one day food drive in the state.
